A different vision, a look that goes beyond the subject and accompanies the imagination. Suzanne Saroff has a unique point of view which gives her freedom with her camera. In the Perspective series she gives shape and perspective to everyday subjects. Fish, fruit, flowers and plants placed behind glasses filled up with water seem to be deformed and they appear to be something more than what they really are.
She captures her own descriptions and her personal portraits of reality, that lead to many interpretations. Also essential is the selection of colours in her subjects and backgrounds. The refraction of the water and the use of directional light create shadows and distortions, transmitting a special reality that captures the attention and the mind. Still objects to which more than one life is given.
The photographer works with light and shadows in the Shadows series. Flowers and glasses with mysterious lines give their dark part some life, some light in their soul. The shadows suggest movements and create a second point of view, they tell another story, some photographs become animations that reveal secrets.
Suzanne Saroff’s photography goes beyond the first impression, in the first glance you can appreciate the composition and colours, to then perceive the background and the intrinsic story behind… to each one of them a unique story, definitely some interesting visual reading.
